BCNU supporting long term care on Vancouver Island
Members invited to July 30 Qualicum Beach rally

In response to VIHA's decision to close Cowichan Lodge and outsource more long term care to profit-driven operators, BCNU is renting busses on July 30 and inviting members, family, stewards and staff to a rally at Qualicum Beach. The rally will be held at the Qualicum Civic Centre at 1:00pm where VIHA's Board is meeting. The rally's theme is "Keep Cowichan Lodge Open." Cowichan Lodge is a LTC facility in Duncan, BC.

Enroute to the event BCNU busses will join other community groups in an Island-wide rally to support better funding for LTC and the continued operation of Cowichan Lodge. Meals and transportation costs will be provided. Space on the BCNU bus is on a first come-first served basis.

Seats must be booked through Jacquie Bobenic at BCNU by 5:00pm on Tuesday, July 22:

Sign-in: BCNU parking lot — 6:00-6:15am
Leave:

BCNU parking lot for Qualicum Beach — 6:30am

Return: BCNU parking lot from Qualicum Beach — approx. 7:30-8:00pm
