BCNU Launches Inquiry into Violence in Health Care

February 27, 2018
Provincial initiative underway encouraging members to tell their story about violence at work

Nurses across BC now have an opportunity to share their experiences of violent-related incidents through one-on-one interviews with representatives from the provincial executive and occupational health and safety (OH &S) department, as part of BCNU's inquiry into violence in health care. Starting today in Prince George, a series of meetings will be taking place around the province allowing members the chance to come forward and tell their story.

As part of the broader violence prevention campaign, the purpose of the inquiry is to gather as much information as possible to help BCNU negotiate better workplace protections for all nurses into the next collective agreement, which will create a safer workplace for all.

Members who are unable to participate in the one-on-one interviews are encouraged to share their stories online by the clicking the button below.
