Steward Intermediate

The Steward Intermediate course is designed to strengthen stewards’ ability to address issues in the workplace while supporting BCNU member colleagues. The course reinforces key concepts taught in Steward Essentials by exploring labour relations theory about progressive discipline, union investigations, reading and interpreting collective agreements, and the grievance process. Additional learning activities focus on communicating effectively in difficult conversations and integrating member advocacy services provided by BCNU.

Steward Intermediate is a blended learning course comprised of weekly online learning activities and two virtual live sessions scheduled over a four-week period.  Online learning activities start on Jan. 6, 2025 and virtual live sessions will be held over zoom on Jan. 29 and 30, 2025.

This course is delivered through the BCNU Learning Centre, BCNU's learning management system. Stewards need to log in or create a new user account to apply.

BCNU reimburses participants for two days’ salary.
