New Wage Rate for LPNs
Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) who are members of BCNU are to be paid an additional $1.00 per hour, effective September 1. LPN members should review their September pay stubs to ensure their employers have adjusted their rate of pay correctly. This one-dollar wage increase for LPN members equates to a 3.6% raise in pay, as noted in an earlier bulletin.
LPNs were successfully legislated into the Nurses' Bargaining Association (NBA) in 2013, but it wasn't until the new contract was ratified that they were actually incorporated into the NBA collective agreement. The last round of bargaining involved a great deal of negotiating to ensure a fair and balanced transition of LPN members into the NBA.
All LPN, RN and RPN members are due to receive their next wage increase February 1, 2018. An economic stability dividend may also apply at that time.
LPN members are encouraged to review the general wage grids to find out what their current wage should now be. Wage increases for all members under the NBA contract are listed below.
