BCNU's Run for the Cure team needs you!
Show your support by running, walking, donating or volunteering at one of ten event locations across the province.
BCNU encourages members, friends and allies to sign up to join the BC Nurses' Union Run for the Cure multi-site team on Sunday October 5, 2014. This year's BC run locations are Abbotsford, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Port McNeill, Prince George, Surrey, Vancouver, Vernon and Victoria.
The Run for the Cure is a 1k or 5k fundraising event. Participants can choose to walk or run either 1 kilometre or 5 kilometres, and strollers are welcome. This annual event raises money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The Foundation seeks to alleviate the burden of breast cancer by funding research, education and advocacy.
BCNU has been a multi-location sponsor of this event, the largest single-day volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause, since 2007. Contact your BCNU Regional Chair for details on your local run.
Running or walking are not the only ways to be a part of BCNU's team. You can also help by volunteering at the BCNU display at your local run site. BCNU is looking for nurses on run day to reach out to the public with our message of safe patient care.
