Bulletin: Requirement to wear masks now over
BC's Provincial Health Officer Dr. Perry Kendall has confirmed that the Influenza Control Program Policy "Vaccination Required Period" officially ended March 31, 2014.
In his April 11, 2014 letter to the British Columbia Nurses' Union, Dr. Kendall states, that unvaccinated staff are no longer required to wear a mask in patient care areas.
Your employer should have communicated this information to all BCNU members. If your manager or supervisor has not notified you that the requirement to wear a mask has ended, please ask them for clarification.
