BCCNP* Seeks Input From Nurses to Harmonize Practice Standards

February 26, 2019
The British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals* has begun the work of harmonizing practice standards amongst the four nursing designations; LPNs, NPs, RNs and RPNs.

There are already two shared practice standards: Boundaries in the Nurse-Client Relationship and Conflict of Interest.

On February 19, 2019, nurses from BC were invited via email to provide feedback on the first of two draft standards:

These two surveys will remain open until March 4, 2019 and should take about 15-20 minutes each to complete.

Surveys on the following two additional draft standards will be open from March 4 to 15, 2019:

  • Survey #3: Duty to Report Practice Standard
  • Survey #4: Documentation Practice Standard

BCNU encourages members to participate by completing the BCCNP's* surveys.

Find more information about how to participate in the practice standard harmonized on the BCCNP website.*

* On September 1, 2020, BC College of Nursing Professional (BCCNP) amalgamated with the Midwives of British Columbia (CMBC) to become BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
