BCNU Reminds Ottawa to Prioritize Public Health Care

October 22, 2019
All parties have an opportunity to work together and improve access to quality, safe patient care

The BC Nurses' Union is encouraging federal parties to collaborate on issues that matter to all Canadians following the Oct. 21 general election.

Public health care was a top-of-mind issue throughout the election campaign. A minority government is an opportunity for MPs to work together with provinces to ensure that patients get access to the care they need.

Whether it's about addressing violence in health care, improving Indigenous health, investing in seniors' care, tackling the ongoing opioid crisis or creating a national drug plan, the federal government plays a central role in funding health care and providing policy leadership.

Nurses will be watching and making sure Canadians have a government that's committed to improving our public health-care system.
