Employer Delays to Retroactive Pay, College Fee Reimbursement
BCNU is aware that members covered by the recently ratified 2022-2025 Nurses’ Bargaining Association (NBA) provincial collective agreement continue to wait to receive wage payments retroactive to April 1, 2022.
The NBA continues to press the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) to expedite the discussions necessary to establish the process to award nurses for their years of service, as outlined in Appendix XX – MOA RE: 2023 Wage Schedule Adjustments, found on page 111 of the 2022-2025 NBA Proposed Terms of Settlement document.
The NBA is seeking the maximum benefit for as many members as possible and will be communicating the outcome of these discussions as soon as possible.
College Registration Fee Reimbursement
Article 57.05 of the 2022-2025 NBA provincial collective agreement now states that effective for the 2023 registration year and ongoing, the Employer will reimburse all NBA members for the full cost of their BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) registration fee (excluding professional liability insurance and NNPBC membership fees).
It is the responsibility of each health authority to establish a reimbursement process and communicate to staff. All health authorities have been informed and reminded by HEABC of this obligation.
Through this change in contract language, BCNU is no longer carrying the significant costs associated with coordination or disbursement of college fee reimbursement, previously paid for using member dues.
