Hiring Delays Prompt Concern
The need to hire more workers to staff the province’s health-care system has never been as urgent as it is today. Despite this need, BCNU is receiving reports of nurses who have faced delays and obstacles when trying to secure employment with BC’s health authorities.
To address these concerns, the union is inviting nurses who have faced challenges in getting hired to share their story by visiting the BCNU website to complete a brief form detailing their experiences.
The stories gathered will assist the union in bringing this issue directly to the Ministry of Health and continue advocating for a more efficient hiring process and real, tangible solutions to the nurse staffing crisis.
Nurses’ participation will support BCNU’s ongoing work to implement minimum nurse-to-patient ratios and improve staffing across BC, creating a health-care system that better supports nurses and their patients.
To bring these concerns to the Ministry of Health, we need firsthand stories from nurses who have encountered hiring challenges.
