Strategic Priorities Education Fund Now Available

January 30, 2025
Application deadline is April 15

Eligible members can now access up to $1,000 through a BCNU fund established to support their education and help advance their careers.

The Strategic Priorities Education Fund (SPEF) can be used to cover expenses incurred when enrolled in qualifying programs and courses in the areas of community care of frail and medically complex seniors, long-term care and mental health/substance use.

Members can also access the SPEF to fund career laddering programs (e.g., LPN to RN/RPN, PCA to LPN or RN/RPN seeking a BSN). All dues-paying active members, including employed student nurses, can apply for the fund. Applications close on April 15.

To be eligible, members must have previously received funding through the Bursary (DMMEB). Members cannot receive funding from the DMMEB and the SPEF in the same bursary intake.
