Call for Nominations: Provincial Job Action Committee Long-Term Care Rep
The five-member PJAC is responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating local and province-wide job action strategies that will support negotiations and help achieve the union's bargaining goals, provides up-to-date job action information to the regional job action committees, and helps manage problems when they arise from job action.
Members working in residential/long-term care are eligible to run for this vacant position.
- PJAC nominations will be open at upcoming regional meetings. Members who wish to run for the position on the committee must:
- Be nominated at one of these meetings (a member does not have to attend the meeting in person and may submit a written submission/request for nomination)
- Be able to carry out the duties of a PJAC member
- Understand and be knowledgeable of BCNU policies and procedures regarding job action>
- Have two years' experience as an active steward
- Have job action experience
- Completed nomination forms must be submitted between Jan. 8, 2019 and Jan. 21, 2019
- An election (online balloting) will take place Jan. 28, 2019 to Feb. 1, 2019
- Only those members who were delegates to the January 2018 BCNU Provincial Bargaining Strategy Conference will be eligible to vote
