Over 3% Wage Increase for NBA Nurses Since May 2016
All members covered by the Nurses' Bargaining Association (NBA) collective agreement have received a 1.35% wage increase, effective the first pay period following February 1, 2017. This, in addition to the nearly 2% wage increase that was awarded retroactively to all members following ratification of the contract on May 10, 2016. To view the wage schedule applicable for LPNs, RNs, and RPNs please refer to the general wage grid. For those members working in forensics, please refer to the forensics wage grid.
Not only did nurses win a 5.5% general wage increase over the life of the agreement, they will also receive an additional rate increase known as an economic stability dividend, or ESD, that is to be paid out February of each year of the contract. For more information on how the ESD is calculated and applied, please read the Ministry of Finance news release.
To date, NBA members have received a 3.3% wage increase. The next wage increase of 0.5% will come in to effect the first pay period following April 1, 2017.
