Damages won used to pay portion of RN and RPN college fees; LPNs to receive $1/hr increase

As announced during the NBA ratification sessions earlier this year, BCNU will pay a portion of RN/RPN members' 2017 license registration fees. While this applies only to the CRNBC and CRPNBC fees (which are due February 28, 2017), all LPN members will be receiving a $1/hr wage increase, effective September 1, 2017.

Damages awarded, used to pay a portion of 2017 college registration fees

The LPN wage increase was negotiated into the 2014-2019 NBA PCA - a major win that helps close the wage gap among nurses. The damages that are being put towards RN/RPN fees came as compensation paid to BCNU by the employer for their continued failure to implement the 2012 safe staffing provisions.

Process for Accessing Damages

REMINDER: Registration and renewal with the CRNBC begins January 3; for the CRPNBC, registration and renewal begins January 9, 2017.

  2. Save your receipt.
