Requirement to wear a mask has ended
Influenza control program policy "Vaccination Required Period" officially ended
BC's Provincial Health Officer Dr. Perry Kendall has confirmed that the Influenza Control Program Policy "Vaccination Required Period" officially ended March 31, 2015.
As stated in his March 30, 2015 email to the healthcare unions and employers, unvaccinated staff are no longer required to wear a mask in patient care areas.
Your employer should have communicated this information to all BCNU members. If your manager or supervisor has not notified you that the requirement to wear a mask has ended, please ask them for clarification.
Members are encouraged to contact their BCNU worksite steward with any questions or concerns.
