Service Delays at Pacific Blue Cross
Members receiving health and welfare benefits provided by Pacific Blue Cross may be experiencing service delays due to a labour dispute. BCNU members are reminded that there is a picket line at the Pacific Blue Cross head office in Burnaby.
Customer service and processing of paper claims are impacted, however BCNU has received assurance from Pacific Blue Cross that electronic claims will continue to be processed. We will notify members of any further changes in service.
For claims and coverage information, Pacific Blue Cross recommends members use the following tools:
Pacific Blue Cross online claims and self-service
- Members may submit scanned receipts and health claims online through CARESnet
- CARESnet may also be used to check what's covered and view recent claims.
Pacific Blue Cross Insta-Claim Health Providers
- Electronic claims submitted automatically by your Health Provider will continue to be processed in real time.
- The PBC mobile app allows members to submit photos of receipts when filing claims, find an Insta-Claim health provider, check coverage balances, and more.
For General Inquiries:
In addition to the tools recommended above, members should visit the Pacific Blue Cross website for frequently asked questions.
For Prescription Drug Plan Inquiries Only:
The specialized PBC Pharmacy Services team will continue to be available to answer any drug plan-related questions. To contact Pharmacy Services, please email them directly at: pharmacyservices@pac.bluecross.ca
