Celebrating National Nursing Week
Starting on Monday, May 6, BCNU President Christine Sorensen will be featured in a province-wide television advertisement, acknowledging the important work of BCNU members both as educated health care professionals and as leaders using their voice to advocate for an improved health care system.
BCNU is recognizing nurses by hosting a virtual celebration event on social media. Nurses are encouraged to visit BCNU's Facebook page to celebrate the contributions of their colleagues, applying the theme for National Nursing Week: 'Nurses. A Voice to Lead - Health for All'. Members are invited to post a photo or short comment describing the way in which a mentor or colleague has role modelled their nursing advocacy work, political engagement or humanitarian efforts. Prizes (including an iPad) will be randomly awarded to those who participate. Members can attend the virtual event and begin posting on May 6.
