National Nursing Week 2022

National Nursing Week 2022

National Nursing Week is May 9-15, 2022

National Nursing Week is a time to recognize the nursing profession and honour the important work of nurses. This year, we aren’t celebrating. Instead, BCNU is shining a light on the critical state of our health-care system and the devastating impact on nurses, patients and our communities.

BC nurses across the province are working critically short staffed, making it more and more difficult to provide safe patient care.  Not only is patient care suffering, but the pressure of having to do more with less is having profound impacts on nurses’ physical and mental health.

BCNU Sharing Member Stories

During National Nursing Week, BCNU will be sharing five nurses' stories, releasing one short video video each day of the week on social media to bring public attention to the reality that nurses face. The featured members have been anonymized to protect their identities, and their jobs. Join us this National Nursing Week to demand that government take action and #helpbcnurses. Visit helpbcnurses.ca to hear their first-hand accounts.
